Michael strengths lie in his ability to incorporate the Client’s vision into the final design and his practical approach to the construction of his projects. He has great success in working with engineering and construction firms and all levels of governing agencies. He has a complete understanding of each project from conceptual design through construction. His experience working with many types of projects has led him to the philosophy, “simplicity in design can make a powerful statement”. Michael’s realistic approach to design and construction, along with his extensive experience provides his Clients with expert professional services and ensures the ultimate success of each project.

For more than 30 years, Michael Jernigan has been specializing in residential and restaurant design. In 1984 Michael relocated to Santa Rosa to work with a restaurant design and supply company as the primary design specialist. This invaluable experience vastly increased his knowledge in the specific demands of commercial design and the experience of creating creative, welcoming environments. In 1987 Michael established Jernigan Design Associates. Since the inception of JDA, his firm has completed well over 250 restaurant projects, 50 residential projects and numerous other types of building designs such as retail design, grocery design, winery tasting rooms, and multi-family design.

Over the years, JDA has collaborated with select architectural firms providing them with design consultation and construction documentation services. Many of JDA’s projects have been located in States other than California and provided design services for projects in other countries.
